It seems that UNE is a school where many students like to go home on the weekends. The three weekends that I have been here I have seen many, many students go home...
Being a student that lives three and a half hours away from home, this gets frustrating. My roommate has left every weekend since the beginning of school, what's so great at home??
If I were to go home I would be bored and probably drive my parents crazy. Granted I am going home this week, BUT I haven't been home in a month and I believe it is time. I do miss my parents. But I would not miss them if I saw them every weekend. FLY out of the nest, IT'S TIME.
Isn't college the time to do your own thing?? Rebel against everything your parents ever told you? Get a tattoo?? Get a piercing?? Guess not. Oh well. TILL next time UNE'ers.

EMERGENCY
View from Hills Beach Rd.
In the past few weeks staring out here at UNE, I have heard of about 5 ambulances coming to the school. Each one bringing new drama and gossip to the campus. Now, all the emergency vehicles that have visited this campus have gone to the freshman dorms. The other night there was one right outside of my window! I am beginning to wonder if this happen to all first year classes?? Or is it just us?? Besides the constant emergency vehicles coming in and out the freshman class definitely has come in with a bang. It's entertaining to be on such a small campus, the gossip travels like wild fire through the mouths of each student. Stay tuned for more UNE campus life as the semester progresses.

The First Week
The first week here at UNE has been an amazing start. The people are friendly and the dorm I'm in (Featherman) is very nice. I do here that the other freshman dorms are not that nice. The comparison that us folk at Featherman use is that our dorm is the "Upper Class" dorms and the others (Avilia, Assisi, Padua and Siena) are the "ghetto" dorms. With our air conditioned halls and excessive amounts of room we do have the advantage. The campus life here are UNE is an adventure that is just beginning and I am hoping to have a successful, eventful time.
